Wayside School Beneath the Cloud of Doom by Louis Sachar

Wayside School is back!

The students of the class on the 30th floor along with their teacher Mrs. Jewl and Louis the gym yard teacher are back along with some new staff including psychiatrist Mr. Pickell and school libarian Mrs. Surlaw.

They are preparing for the Ultimate Test -- the test over everything they've ever learned.  If they fail they will have to return to kindergarten.

There's only one problem . . . the cloud of doom that is parked over the school.

After 40 years, Louis Sachar has written the final book in the Wayside School series.  If you haven't read the previous books, you need to now!  They are filled with hilarious stories of the class on the 30th floor.  This is a great series for all kids.

Wayside School Is Falling Down by Louis Sachar

When Wayside School was built something went wrong.  Instead of one floor with 30 classrooms, it was built 30 floors high with one classroom on each floor.  Mrs. Jewls' teaches the classroom on the 30th floor.  These are the stories about herself, her class, and her students.

Wayside School is a hilarious collection of short stories about the students the school.  Each story focuses on one of the students.  Each student it just a little different from the students you would normally see in a school.  This is a great book for kids look for a little humor with their reading.

Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar

Tamaya Dhilwaddi and Marshall Walsh have been walking to and from school together for years.  It's a long four-mile walk around  the woods to their house.  Then one day, Marshall decides to take a "short cut" through the woods to avoid a school bully and Tamaya follows him into the woods.  They soon get lost.  Then they bully finds them.  Then they escape only to find that something in the woods was a lot more dangerous than they thought.

This was a great story of courage, suspense, adventure, and mystery.  The issues of bullying, telling the truth, and doing the right thing are handled with great care.  I would recommend this book to any reader.
