Black and White and Re(A)d All Over

At the library we often get asked to help find books that caught a person's eye on a previous visit.  Sometimes all we get to try to find the book is that it was for teens and it had a red and black cover.  So this week, we're sharing some books that fit that description . . . .

Extasia by Claire Legrand
In a postapocalyptic world, sixteen-year-old Saint Amity joins a coven and sets out on a quest to summon the Devil in order to protect her village, which is controlled by group of pious elders.

Belle Morte by Bella Higgin
Belle Morte. One of five houses where vampires reside as celebrities and humans are paid to be their living donors. While others came here seeking fortune, I came in search of my sister who walked into Belle Morte five months ago ... and never walked back out.

Three Kisses, One Midnight by Roshani Chokshi
Told in interconnected stories, three witchy best friends brew a love potion on Halloween that is said to produce a love that will last forever as long as it is sealed by true love's kiss before the stroke of midnight.

Hollow Fires by Samira Ahmed
After discovering the body of fourteen-year-old Jawad Ali in Jackson Park, seventeen-year-old journalism student Safiya Mirza begins investigating his murder and ends up confronting white supremacy in her own high school.
